The mission of Children’s House Montessori is to nurture the spirit and curiosity of each child. While staying true to the pedagogy of Maria Montessori, we seek to promote independence, self confidence and respect for others in a peaceful environment.
Our prepared environment describes much more than just a classroom and the work on the shelves. It includes our physical surroundings, which are child-sized and child-focused, authentic Montessori materials to facilitate a child’s learning, and experienced, enthusiastic, trained guides who observe and facilitate each child’s natural progress. All this in a peaceful, joyful, respectful community of peers.
Helping each child develop positive social, emotional, and life skills is core to our program. Children learn how to be kind learners and friends, how to maintain a clean environment, and how to take care of their own basic needs. Grace and courtesy lessons that address life-long social skills are practiced by both teachers and students.
We pride ourselves on building a school that fosters:
- Learning inspired by free choice.
- Hands-on experience with beautiful, authentic materials.
- Cultural and ethnic diversity.
- A balance of freedom and personal responsibility.
- An environment that motivates children to explore their interests.
“The teachers at Children’s House Montessori are gifted and loving to every child. This school is a solid decision for your family.”
-T.H.
